January 11th is #WearBlueDay

January 11th is #WearBlueDay

January was first declared National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month in 2010. Since then, January has been a time to acknowledge those experiencing enslavement and those who have escaped.

To raise awareness on human trafficking, the Department of Homeland Security’s Blue Campaign is asking people to take photos of themselves, friends, family, and colleagues wearing blue clothing on January 11th, 2020 and share them on social media – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram – along with their #WearBlueDay hashtag.

The Blue Campaign is a national public awareness campaign designed by the Department of Homeland Security to educate the public, law enforcement, and other industry partners to recognize the indicators of human trafficking, and how to appropriately respond to possible cases. The Blue Campaign also creates general awareness training materials for law enforcement and others to increase detection of human trafficking and to identify victims, which can be ordered at no cost HERE.

Freedom Light executives, staff, and colleagues will all be wearing blue on January 11th, will you?
